Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa
Discover the land that ranching families of the 1800’s worked to support the region’s mining communities.
Introducing packages designed for the curious at heart. Inclusive packages that provide plenty of western experience but also time to indulge your sense of adventure at the resort. Each package offers daily guided rides at the base of Uncompahgre Plateau, cattle drives, ranching education, roping lessons and perhaps some fun competition. Daily meals are included.
Spanning more than 500 acres with a generous network of well-marked Colorado horseback riding trails that climb over 1,500 feet in elevation, the facility provides spectacular access to the area’s riches. Our experienced guides will take you on an exploration of the base of the Uncompahgre Plateau, the surrounding picturesque desert and red rock canyons. Both beginners and advanced riders are sure to enjoy the ride.
Riding lessons are available for both beginners and those with horseback riding experience. For a truly unique lesson in horsemanship, The Stables’ instructors can teach you how to handle, harness, and hook up two draft horses and then drive the wagon. Our Stables team can also provide equine-centered personal or professional development programs. If you are looking for a special celebration for your kids, we host birthday parties that include donkey rides and trail riding.
The Stables are open to all Gateway Canyons guests who want to discover our Colorado horseback riding trails.
The immediate area currently hosts an ever growing variety of single-track Colorado mountain bike trails. Climb to spectacular vistas or cruise along flatter trails and roads. Either way, your experience will get your legs and lungs going!
Gateway Canyons has a variety of mountain bikes for rent, but if rocky roads aren’t your thing, we’ve got some pretty cool cruisers for the flat roads too.
Gateway Canyons Air Tours offers the unique and unforgettable experience of flying over some of the most spectacular scenery in the world! Our guests not only see the scenic beauty from under the beautiful blue skies of Colorado, but they learn about the fascinating lore and legends of western Colorado and eastern Utah.
